Marvel Heroes is free-to-play action role playing game, or ARPG, in the tradition of Diablo and Titan Quest. In Marvel Heroes, however, you can play as any one of dozens of your favorite characters from Marvel comic books and movies, such as Iron Man, Wolverine and the Hulk, just to name a few.

When it was first released in 2013, Marvel Heroes was generally panned among fans and in the press for a fairly bland playing experience. To the developers credit, however, they paid close attention to what fans were saying and have drastically improved the game in the months since, raising their Metacritic score from a 58 to an 81 for the latest Marvel Heroes 2015 version. Most fans would now agree that the game is now a blast to play, a fact made even more impressive by the fact that it does not cost a penny.

The developers of Marvel Heroes periodically release promo codes or keys as a bonus for fans. When unlocked, these codes translate to a free gift of some kind; that gift can be anything from a temporary experience boost to a completely new character.

1. Log in to your Marvel Heroes account on MarvelHeroes.com.
2. Click “Profile” in the top left corner of the page.
3. Click the “Redeem Key” link on the left side of the page.
4. Type or copy and paste your code into the “Enter Key” box, then select submit.
5. To confirm that the promo code was redeemed correctly, click the “Account Summary” link on the left side of the page, then scroll down to view your order history. The item from the code should be at the top of the list.
6. The reward associated with the key will automatically be placed in your inventory the next time you play Marvel Heroes.
